Itinerary
Moshi - Marangu gate to Mandara Hut
Temperature: 15°C to 25°C. Height: Marangu gate - 1,860 meters above sea level. Distance: Around 8 kilometers. Nature of Area: Dense rainforest with diverse flora and fauna.
Mandara hut to Horombo Hut
Temperature: 10°C to 20°C. Height: Horombo Hut - 3,720 meters above sea level. Distance: Approximately 12 kilometers. Nature of Area: Alpine meadows with stunning views of Kilimanjaro.
Horombo Hut to Mawenzi - Back to Horombo Hut
Temperature: 5°C to 15°C. Height: Mawenzi - 4,600 meters above sea level. Distance: Variable, depending on exploration. Nature of Area: Acclimatization day, rocky terrain with panoramic vistas.
Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut
Temperature: 0°C to 10°C. Height: Kibo Hut - 4,703 meters above sea level. Distance: Approximately 10 kilometers. Nature of Area: Barren landscapes, transitioning into the alpine desert.
Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak - Back to Horombo Hut
Temperature: -10°C to -5°C (summit). Height: Uhuru Peak - 5,895 meters above sea level. Distance: Summit ascent and descent to Horombo Hut. Nature of Area: Glacial landscapes, challenging summit experience.
Horombo Hut to Mandara hut - Marangu gate - Back to Moshi/Arusha
