Itinerary
Moshi/Arusha Machame gate to Machame camp
Embark on your trek from the Machame gate, navigating through lush rainforests. The day concludes at Machame Camp, where you will experience the first stunning views of the surrounding landscapes.
Machame camp to Shira 2 camp:
The trail leads you to higher altitudes, entering the moorland zone. Shira 2 Camp, situated at an elevation of approximately 3,850 meters, offers a glimpse of the vast Shira Plateau.
Shira 2 camp to Lava tower to Barranco camp:
Hike through the unique landscapes of the Lava Tower and descend to Barranco Camp. This day provides essential acclimatization for the challenges ahead.
Barranco camp to Karanga to Barafu camp:
Navigate the Barranco Wall and proceed to Karanga Valley before reaching Barafu Camp. As you ascend to 4,600 meters, the air thins, preparing you for the summit bid.
Barafu camp Uhuru Peak (summit point) back to Barafu camp then to Mweka camp:
The highlight of your journey summit day! Reach the iconic Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Descend to Barafu Camp for a well-deserved rest before proceeding to Mweka Camp.
Mweka camp to Mweka gate Back to Moshi
The final descent takes you through the lush Mweka rainforest. Celebrate your achievement at the Mweka Gate before heading back to Moshi for a well-earned rest.
