Moshi Rongai Gate -Simba Camp
Embark on the Rongai Route as you leave Moshi, reaching the Rongai Gate. Begin your trek through lush rainforests, witnessing diverse flora and fauna. Ascend to Simba Camp, surrounded by the mystical beauty of the Kilimanjaro forest, with temperatures ranging from 10 to 25°C.
Simba Camp - Second Cave
Continue your ascent through the moorland, revealing stunning views of the rugged landscape. Arrive at Second Cave, where temperatures may vary between 5 and 20°C, offering a unique experience in this alpine desert environment.
Second Cave– Third Cave
Journey through the expansive moorland, witnessing the transition in vegetation. Arrive at Third Cave, situated at approximately 3,870 meters. Experience temperatures ranging from 5 to 15°C as you immerse yourself in the high-altitude environment.
Third Cave - Kibo Hut
Climb through the lunar-like landscape of the Saddle to reach Kibo Hut, positioned at 4,700 meters. Temperature fluctuations from -5 to 10°C mark the onset of the alpine desert. Prepare for the final ascent to Uhuru Peak.
Kibo Hut Uhuru Peak - Back to Horombo Hut
The summit day dawns as you conquer Uhuru Peak, standing at 5,895 meters. Revel in the panoramic views before descending to Horombo Hut, surrounded by the varied landscapes. Experience temperatures ranging from -10 to 15°C.
Horombo Hut - Mandara Hut - Marangu Gate - Back to Moshi/Arusha
Descend through the moorland and lush rainforests, passing Mandara Hut and reaching Marangu Gate. Bid farewell to Kilimanjaro's splendor and return to Moshi or Arusha, cherishing the memories of an extraordinary trek.
