Moshi -Rongai Gate -Simba Camp
Distance: Moshi to Rongai Gate (2-3 hours drive) Height: Rongai Gate (1,800 meters) Temperature: Mild to warm Nature & Vegetation: Begins with cultivated farmland, gradually transitioning into the lush rainforest zone.
Simba Camp -Second Cave
Distance: Approximate trekking distance (8-9 km) Height: Progresses to around 3,450 meters Temperature: Cooling as altitude increases Nature & Vegetation: Leaving the rainforest, entering heath and moorland zones with unique flora.
Second Cave– Kikelewa Cave
Distance: Trekking distance (11-13 km) Height: Reaching around 3,600 meters Temperature: Colder, especially at night Nature & Vegetation: Alpine desert with sparse vegetation and stunning views.
Kikelewa Cave- Mawenzi Tarn
Distance: Trekking distance (8-10 km) Height: Ascending to about 4,300 meters Temperature: Cold, especially at higher altitudes Nature & Vegetation: Alpine meadows with unique flora and rocky landscapes.
Mawenzi Tarn– Kibo Hut

Kibo Hut -Uhuru Peak - Back to Horombo Hut
