Itinerary
Moshi/Arusha – Londorossi Gate – Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree)
Embark on your trek from Londorossi Gate, the starting point of the Lemosho Route. Traverse through lush rainforests and catch glimpses of wildlife as you make your way to Mti Mkubwa, the Big Tree, where your first camp awaits.
Mti Mkubwa – Shira 1 Camp:
The journey continues as you ascend towards the Shira Plateau. The landscape transforms, revealing expansive views of the Shira Cathedral and the rugged beauty of the high-altitude terrain.
Shira 2 Camp – Lava Tower – Barranco Camp
Trek to the iconic Lava Tower, a striking volcanic formation, before descending to Barranco Camp. The varied landscapes provide a visual feast, from alpine deserts to the unique Barranco Wall.
Barranco Camp – Karanga Camp:
Challenge yourself with the ascent of the Barranco Wall, rewarded with panoramic vistas. The trail leads to Karanga Camp, nestled beneath the glaciers of the southern ice fields.
Karanga Camp - Barafu Camp:
Ascend further through rocky terrains to Barafu Camp, the base for the final push to the summit. The alpine desert surrounds you, creating an otherworldly atmosphere
Barafu Camp – Uhuru Peak (Summit) – Back to Barafu Camp, then to Mweka Camp:
Summit day arrives as you conquer Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. The sense of accomplishment is overwhelming. Descend to Barafu Camp before continuing to Mweka Camp, witnessing the changing landscapes once more.
Mweka Camp – Mweka Gate – Moshi:
The final descent takes you through the lush rainforests to Mweka Gate. Celebrate your achievement before returning to Moshi, reflecting on the incredible journey undertaken.
