Itinerary
Moshi/ Arusha - Machame gate - Machame camp
• Geographical Details: The trek begins at the Machame gate, situated at an altitude of 1,490 meters. The route traverses through diverse terrains, leading to the Machame camp, located at approximately 3,010 meters.
Machame camp - Shira 2 camp
• Geographical Details: Ascend to Shira 2 camp at an elevation of around 3,850 meters, passing through mesmerizing landscapes that showcase the diversity of Kilimanjaro's ecosystems.
Shira 2 camp - Lava tower - Barranco camp
• Geographical Details: Hike through the captivating Lava tower and descend to Barranco camp, set against the stunning backdrop of the Barranco Wall. The campsite rests at approximately 3,960 meters.
Barranco camp - Karanga
• Geographical Details: Navigate the challenging Barranco Wall and progress to Karanga camp, situated at around 4,035 meters, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks.
Karanga - Barafu camp
• Geographical Details: Reach the high-altitude Barafu camp, standing at an impressive elevation of 4,640 meters, in preparation for the final ascent to Uhuru Peak.
Barafu camp - Uhuru Peak (summit point) - Mweka camp
• Geographical Details: Conquer Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa at 5,895 meters, and descend to Mweka camp, experiencing the remarkable transition from snow-covered peaks to lush rainforest.
Mweka camp - Mweka gate - Back to Moshi
• Geographical Details: Descend through the enchanting Mweka route, passing through the lush Mweka gate at approximately 1,630 meters, concluding the journey back in Moshi.
