Itinerary
: Moshi – Londorossi gate – Big Tree Camp
Start your trek at Londorossi gate, entering the dense rainforest. Ascend to Big Tree Camp at an elevation of 2,780 meters, surrounded by emerald foliage and temperatures averaging 10°C to 20°C.
: Mti Mkubwa – Shira 1 camp
Traverse the towering trees of Mti Mkubwa, reaching the Shira Plateau. Camp at Shira 1, at an elevation of 3,610 meters, where temperatures can range from 5°C to 15°C, providing a cool alpine atmosphere.
: Shira 1 camp – Shira 2 camp
Hike across the expansive Shira Plateau, reaching Shira 2 camp at 3,850 meters. The landscape transforms with unique vegetation, and temperatures hover between 5°C and 15°C.
Shira 2 camp – Lava Tower – Moir Hut
Ascend to Lava Tower (4,640 meters) for acclimatization, witnessing dramatic changes in vegetation. Descend to Moir Hut, situated at 4,200 meters, with temperatures ranging from -5°C to 5°C.
