Itinerary
Moshi/Arusha – Londorossi Gate – Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree)
Start your trek with a scenic drive to Londorossi Gate, the entry point to the Lemosho Route. The trail takes you through the enchanting rainforest, where the enormity of nature's beauty is palpable. Reach Mti Mkubwa camp, nestled beneath the canopy, for a well-deserved rest.
Mti Mkubwa – Shira 2 Camp
As you ascend, witness the transition from lush forest to heather and moorland. The path leads to Shira 2 Camp, providing stunning views of Shira Plateau. Marvel at the changing landscapes and settle in for a night amidst the alpine wonders.
Shira 2 Camp – Lava Tower – Barranco Camp
Today's trek includes a challenging ascent to Lava Tower, a volcanic rock formation that stands as a testament to Kilimanjaro's geological history. Descend to Barranco Camp, nestled in the shadow of the imposing Barranco Wall, offering spectacular views.
Barranco Camp – Karanga Camp
Conquer the iconic Barranco Wall, a thrilling climb with rewarding panoramas. The trail then leads to Karanga Camp, a strategic stop before the final push to the summit. Immerse yourself in the vastness of the landscape as you prepare for the summit bid.
Karanga Camp - Barafu Camp
Ascend to Barafu Camp, the last stop before the summit. The barren landscape creates a surreal atmosphere as you inch closer to the top. Rest, hydrate, and mentally prepare for the challenging night ascent.
Barafu Camp – Uhuru Peak (Summit Point) – Back to Barafu Camp then to Mweka Camp
Embark on the summit bid under the blanket of stars. Reach Uhuru Peak at sunrise, standing atop Africa's highest point. Descend to Barafu Camp for a brief rest before proceeding to Mweka Camp, where lush vegetation welcomes you back to a lower altitude.
Mweka Camp – Mweka Gate – Moshi
The final descent takes you through the enchanting Mweka Rainforest. Reach Mweka Gate, where a sense of accomplishment fills the air. Receive your summit certificates and transfer back to Moshi, celebrating the triumphant completion of your Kilimanjaro adventure.
