Moshi to Rongai to Gate Simba Camp

Simba Camp to Second Cave

Second Cave to Kikelewa Cave
Navigate through the alpine desert, a stark but mesmerizing landscape. Temperature: 10°C (50°F), Altitude: 3,600 meters. Kikelewa Cave offers respite, surrounded by otherworldly rock formations.
Kikelewa Cave to Mawenzi Tarn
Climb towards Mawenzi Tarn, situated beneath the stunning Mawenzi Peak. Temperature: 5°C (41°F), Altitude: 4,330 meters. Marvel at the glacial tarn and surrounding vistas.
Mawenzi Tarn to Kibo Hut
The Mawenzi Tarn to Kibo Hut trek takes you through some of the most breathtaking landscapes on Mount Kilimanjaro. As you begin your journey from Mawenzi Tarn, located at an altitude of approximately 4,300 meters, you'll be surrounded by magnificent rocky formations and pristine alpine lakes. The trail ascends gradually, offering panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and peaks.
Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak (summit) to Horombo Hut
The trek from Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak, the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, is an exhilarating and challenging journey. As you leave Kibo Hut, located at an altitude of around 4,700 meters, you'll make your way towards the ultimate goal – reaching the highest point in Africa.
