Itinerary
Moshi/Arusha to Londorossi Gate to Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree)
Embarking on your journey, drive to Londorossi Gate, the starting point of the Lemosho Route. Begin the trek through dense rainforests, catching glimpses of wildlife and arriving at the enchanting Mti Mkubwa campsite.
Mti Mkubwa to Shira 1 Camp
Traverse the moorlands, witnessing the landscape transform. Reach Shira 1 Camp, perched at an elevation of 11,500 feet, offering stunning panoramas of the Shira Plateau.
Shira 1 Camp to Moir Hut
Climb steadily towards Moir Hut, where the scenery becomes increasingly rugged. Nestled at 13,800 feet, Moir Hut provides a surreal setting surrounded by towering cliffs.
Moir Hut to Lava Tower to Barranco Camp
Ascend to Lava Tower, a dramatic volcanic formation at 15,190 feet. Descend to the picturesque Barranco Camp, passing through the alpine desert with breathtaking views.
Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Tackle the Barranco Wall and traverse the Karanga Valley, reaching Karanga Camp. The ever-changing landscapes continue to captivate, offering a mix of challenge and awe.
Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
Ascend to Barafu Camp, the base for the final push to the summit. At 15,331 feet, the air thins, preparing you for the ultimate achievement.
Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Back to Barafu Camp to Mweka Camp
Summit day! Conquer Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa at 19,341 feet. Descend to Barafu Camp, then continue to Mweka Camp, celebrating the triumph beneath the starlit African sky.
Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate to Moshi
Descend through lush rainforests to Mweka Gate. Bid farewell to the mountain and receive your well-earned certificate. Return to Moshi, cherishing the memories of an extraordinary adventure.
