Itinerary
Moshi/Arusha – Londorossi Gate – Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree)
The expedition kicks off with a scenic drive to Londorossi Gate, the entry point to the Lemosho Route. Trek through the captivating rainforest to Mti Mkubwa, where the ancient trees stand as sentinels, whispering tales of the mountain's rich history.
Mti Mkubwa – Shira 1 Camp
Ascend through the moorland, leaving the forest behind. As you reach Shira 1 Camp, be captivated by the expansive views of Shira Plateau and the surrounding peaks, setting the stage for the adventure unfolding.
Shira 1 Camp – Moir Hut
Venture into the alpine desert, where the landscape transforms dramatically. Moir Hut welcomes you with a remote and tranquil atmosphere, surrounded by surreal rock formations and panoramic vistas.
Moir Hut – Lava Tower – Barranco Camp
The day's challenge includes the ascent to Lava Tower and the descent to Barranco Camp. Navigate the challenging Barranco Wall and relish the sense of accomplishment as you settle into camp amidst the towering cliffs.
Barranco Camp – Karanga Camp
The journey continues through the Karanga Valley, revealing breathtaking views of the Southern Icefields. Karanga Camp offers a serene setting, allowing you to rest and rejuvenate before the final push to the summit.
Karanga Camp- Barafu Camp
Ascend to Barafu Camp, the high desert campsite at the base of the summit. The anticipation builds as you prepare for the ultimate challenge – reaching Uhuru Peak.
Barafu Camp – Uhuru Peak – Back to Barafu Camp Mweka Camp
The pinnacle of your adventure arrives as you conquer Uhuru Peak, standing atop the "Roof of Africa." Descend to Barafu Camp for a well-deserved rest before continuing to Mweka Camp, celebrating the triumphs of the journey.
Mweka Camp – Mweka Gate -Moshi
The final descent through the lush rainforest brings you to Mweka Gate. Reflect on the incredible journey as you bid farewell to Kilimanjaro, forever carrying the memories of this transformative experience.
